WIGAN Athletic have swooped to sign Partick Thistle left-back Aaron Taylor-Sinclair.
The 23-year-old becomes Uwe Rosler’s second signing of the summer, after Tuesday’s capture of Andrew Taylor from Cardiff.
Taylor-Sinclair comes very highly rated, having been strongly linked with a move to Celtic midway through last season.
He has penned a three-year deal, and will provide competition for fellow new signing Taylor down the left-hand side.
“When the opportunity to come to Wigan came up, I was very interested, and I feel this is the next step in my career,” said Taylor-Sinclair.
“I want to meet up with everyone now, get working and prove to the gaffer that he has made a good choice.”
Rosler added: “Aaron fits exactly with the type of player we are looking to bring to the club, young, hungry, dynamic and ready to fit into our culture.
“He has been a key player for Partick Thistle for a couple of seasons now and he has been on our radar for some time. We will give him the time he needs to become integrated but he has the potential to develop into the sort of player who can take the club forwards.”
Both Jean Beausejour and Stephen Crainey - last season’s options at left-back - are out of contract and expected to move on this summer.
Rosler will now switch his sights to the attacking ranks, having labelled striking reinforcements a top priority for his summer strengthening.
