WIGAN Athletic have confirmed that defender Aaron Taylor-Sinclair has left the club.

The Scot joined the club from Partick Thistle but has not made any league appearances and featured in one competitive game; the 2-1 defeat at Burton Albion in the Capital One Cup.

Ironically, Taylor-Sinclair could play his first league]game at the DW Stadium next month, when his new side are Latics’ opponents on August 16.

The 24-year-old’s departure means that just three of last summer’s arrivals – Don Cowie, Andrew Taylor and Emyr Huws – remain at the DW Stadium, with James Tavernier about to tie up a deal to move to Rangers alongside Martyn Waghorn.
