LATICS have swooped to sign Martyn Waghorn on a permanent basis.
The 24-year-old has quickly settled into life at the DW following his loan arrival from Leicester on deadline day in January.
And with his contract with the Foxes up at the end of the season, Latics have moved to secure his long-term future, signing him on a three year deal.
As well as preventing any rival clubs from potentially moving in, Latics will also benefit from Waghorn no longer being classed as a loan player.
Clubs are only allowed to field a maximum of five loan players in each matchday squad, and Latics had six on their books - Waghorn, Nick Powell, Nicky Maynard, Jack Collison, Ryan Tunnicliffe and Josh McEachran.
