WIGAN chairman Dave Whelan does not expect any last-minute ins or outs before the transfer window slams shut at 11pm tonight.
As has become the norm, Wigan’s biggest priority this month has been repelling reported interest in Hugo Rodallega and Charles N’Zogbia rather than bring new blood in.
James McCarthy’s name also made the gossip columns yesterday, with Chelsea rumoured to be planning a beat-the-deadline swoop for the 20-year-old.
That link is thought to be wide of the mark, while Whelan (left) also expects the rest of Roberto Martinez’s squad to remain intact until the summer at least.
He told the Evening Post: “We want to keep our team together and our quality players at the club – and we are very happy to stay as we are.
“We have had a few clubs chasing Zoggy, but Zoggy wants to stay.
“We’re delighted he wants to stay, and I can’t see anything else happening.”
Whelan was delighted with the performance, if not necessarily the result, at Bolton on Saturday, with both sides having to go through it all again at the DW on Wednesday, February 16 for a place in Round Five.
“We have to wait a fortnight now for the replay, because of the international round, which is a shame,” he added.
