INCE Central Reserves moved into second place in Northgate Vehicle Hire Division Three after a hard-fought 2-1 win over a resolute Farnworth Town side.
The game was very even but Central broke the deadlock when Marcus Cusani fired home from fully 25 yards.
The second half saw Town battling away and they were rewarded when Jordan Mayers found the net on the hour. It was then nip and tuck and with a draw looking certain a neat passing move set Danny Park free and he slotted the ball home.
In the dying seconds Town missed two open goals courtesy of Phil Hayes and Sam Beard as Central hung on to take the points.
Leaders Atherton George crashed 4-0 at home to Black Bull as Martin Foster and Nathan Smith both netted twice.
Ashton Villa took closer order at the top after a narrow 3-2 win at Billinge Community with the goal machine Gaz Smith scoring twice.
Hurlston Hall claimed their very first win as they demolished Landgate Springs 7-2. Springs only trailed 3-2 at the break and then fell apart as Rob Knowles got a fine hat-trick for the home side.
Skelmersdale Celtics thrashed Gidlow Res 7-1 with Callum Kirby netting a hat-trick.
Winstanley Warriors returned to form with a 5-0 win over Sporting Leigh with a hat-trick there for Tom Jones.
Garswood Premier Division title- chasers Newburgh Harrick United were beaten 4-2 by Leigh Rangers whose scorers were Steve Marsh  and Scot Mulcrow, while Luis Eden and Gary Thomas replied for United.
Hindley Town slammed AFC Scholes 6-1 with Dave Hodgson claiming a trio, while Bickerstaffe thrashed bottom side Atherton Royal 7-3.
Gidlow Athletic and Digmoor drew 2-2, this after the home side had led 2-0 with goals from Mat Benson and Danny Arkwright.
A second half double from Steve Tomaselli sewed things up.
Pemberton and Standish St Wilfs shared the spoils 1-1.
Crystalleisurewear.co.uk Division One top dogs Winstanley Res edged out Standish St Wilfs Res as John Catterall got the only goal.
Belair saw off AFC Tyldesley 4-2 with Martin Ruddy scoring a couple.
Cherrybrook beat Foundry 4-1 with hat-trick hero Scot Robinson playing a blinder. Ince, too, had their hat-trick man in Danny Greenall whose threesome helped his side defeat St Judes 3-1 with Curtis Hodgson getting a late consolation for the visitors.
Wigan Rovers beat Ormskirk 3-1.
SOUTH LANCS COUNTIES LEAGUE
IN the Premier Division, Goose Green moved to within a point of the leaders Knowsley South after a hard-fought 2-1 win at Horwich St Mary’s.
A goal in each half from Matt Fishwick and an own goal saw Goose Green go 2-0 up. Steve Lane pulled a goal back.
Bottom club Wigan Cosmos secured a useful point at Orrell Otters in a 1-1 draw. Nathan Evans put Cosmos ahead in the first half, but Tom Ashall levelled.
Knowsley South Res moved to the top of Division One after a 5-1 win against Whitley. Chris Butler put Whitley ahead but four goals by Shaun Richards and a strike by Steve Burrows saw Knowsley South Res home.
There are four clubs just one point behind the leaders – St Cuthbert’s are one of them after a 4-1 win at Up Holland. Scot Unsworth, Liam Keefe, Ian Ward and Donovan were the marksmen. Steve Oakely had earlier equalised for Up Holland.
Up Holland Rangers are also in joint second after a 4-1 win at Ashton Villa.
Aaron Bailey  and Paul Gregory were on target. Johnny Martin had earlier equalised for the Villa.
Marus Bridge were 3-1 winners against Horwich St Mary’s Res with Scot Sheehan  and Martin Toms on target.
In Division Two, Standish Park Rangers moved up to mid-table after beating the second-placed Aspull Res 5-2. Craig Bate and Liam Cooper gave SPR a 2-0 interval lead, and it quickly went to 4-0 with Chris Catterall and Joe Whitfield on target.
Adam Flores hit a brace to give Aspull Res hope but a second Liam Cooper goal gave SPR a 5-2 victory.
Parklands moved off the bottom and relegated their opponents Orwell to bottom place after a 6-3 win.
Sam Wood , Danny Davies  and Adam Rigby scored for Parklands. Orwell had led early in the game with Scot Jones on target, with further goals from Neil Rigby .
Leaders Garswood made it seven wins from seven after a 3-0 scoreline against Bryn Park. Mike Scott  and Chris Francis netted.
Goose Green recorded a 6-4 victory against Halsall Res and moved into second spot as Mark Lee scored a hat-trick.
Chequer Lane’s run of good form continued with a third consecutive win with a 4-0 scoreline against Up Holland Res. All the goals came in a barnstorming second half with Dion Moran scoring his first goal of the season, James Thompson straight from a corner and Jordan Murray on target. An own goal completed the tally.
In the Adam Morris Cup for Division Two teams, A Morris beat Lower Ince 3-0. Mark Birch two and John Harrison were the marksmen.
St Cuthbert’s Res were 2-1 winners against Ormskirk Royals thanks to two goals by Mike Hair.
In the Under-18s, Highfield Grange got their fifth win in five games, beating Ashton Town 5-0. Lee O’Grady hit a hat-trick.
