WIGAN’S Barry Taylor completed 18 holes at Houghwood in an hour – and all for a good cause!
The seven-time and current Lancashire PGA No.1 pro completed the round in one hour and seven seconds (carrying clubs unaided) to raise more than £650 for BILLS (Brain Injury Life Line Support) Charitable Trust.
Taylor gave a big thank you to sponsors TRU (Transitional Rehabilitation Units) for their support and organisation, those who donated prizes and money, and Houghwood for the use of the facilities.
WIGAN golf ace David Lynn is taking a well-earned break this week and will not be competing at the US Open.
The 39-year-old Latics fan, who is halfway through his first year competing on the US tour, is recharging his batteries ahead of the final two majors of the year - the Open in July and the USPGA in August. Lynn, the world No.44, has played in 15 tournaments this year, pocketing more than £800,000.
