WIGAN’S Kyle Evans made it through to the quarter-finals at the UCI BMX Supercross World Cup in Manchester last weekend.
Alongside the headline-grabbing performances of GB winners Liam Phillips and Shanaze Reade, 19-year-old Evans helped British Cycling’s Olympic Academy Programme athletes to a best-ever result.
Academy starlet Evans, of Hindley, was one of seven athletes who made it through to the motos including Quilan Isido.
He was one of five riders to progress again – but the men were eliminated in the quarterfinals.
Evans is hoping to qualify for the Rio Olympics.
