GOLBORNE Parkside exchanged places with Wigan St Cuthbert’s in the North West counties Upper Division with a 22-16 win over the Wigan side.
Tries from Andy Bentham, Jack Probert and a Hames Whilde goal helped overturn a 16-12 deficit.
Parkside’s first haf tries came from Louis Hughes and James Tunstall, with St Cuthbert’s scores being provided by Curtis Shaw, Dave Baugley and Craig Keating.
Martin Fielding kicked the goals.
The sides were locked at 12-12 at the interval before St Cuthbert’s went ahead early in the second half.
But they couldn’t hang on as Parkside crossed three more times to keep in touching distance of table toppers Dalton.
The Lower division saw Hindley take on Ince Rose Bridge and come away with a 22-6 victory. Rose Bridge sit third in the five team division with Hindley moving up to second with the win in their first appearance in the Lower Division.
Rose Bridge have one win from three fixtures, leaving them sitting above Oldham St Anne’s and Pilkington Recs.
Blackbrook head the league table.
Next week’s fixtures see St cuthbert’s host Irlam Hornets in the Upper Division, with Hindley travelling to Blackbrook and Ince Rose Bridge facing a trip to Oldham St Anne’s in the Lower Division.
In the National Conference League Premier Division play-offs, West Hull set a Grand Final date with Wath Brow after seeing off minor premiers Thatto Heath Crusaders 14-12.
The St Helens side were put down to 12 men for the last 10 minutes of the first half with Corey Lee being sent to the sin bin as West Hull took an 8-6 lead into the half time break.
The Grand Final is set for Sunday November 17 at the home of Widnes Vikings, the Stobart Stadium.
