PEMBERTON wheelchair basketball ace Jon Pollock is starting to place his focus on some of the teams he feels will be a threat to Team GB at the London Paralympics.
Pollock has now received his official call-up, meaning he will begin his fourth Paralympic campaign the day after the opening ceremony on August 29 with a group stage clash against Germany. However, Pollock is already looking at the bigger picture and the teams which may threaten the home country’s medal hopes once the action gets under way.
Pollock, 35, said: “There are lots of top quality teams out there at the moment so I think this will be the closest Paralympics in history.
“The standard is incredibly high. Australia, Canada, the US and us will probably be the big four again, but emerging teams like Turkey will pose a huge threat.”
