Wigan aces flying high

WIGAN Thai Boxing Club’s Gavin Rogerson and James Hawkesworth are both flying high at present after winning recent fights.

Hawkesworth won his fifth fight in Warrington against an experienced fighter from Supergym in Knutsford.

He remains unbeaten and is looking forward to his next fight in April in Sheffield along side fellow fighters from Wigan – Steven Winstanley and Gavin Rogerson.

Rogerson – the current UKMF and WRSA champion – also won his recent fight in Sheffield against local hopeful Adam Hadfield from Fight Unit in Barnsley.

The fight went to points and Rogerson won and his now the ISKA English champion at 81.4kg.

Rogerson has just returned from Jittys Gym in Thailand where he has been training for the past two months and also competed over there.

Rogerson, Hawkesworth and Winstanley are all fighting on a big showdown show in Sheffield on April 3 at the Octagon.

Tickets for the event are on sale now and can be purchased from Wigan thai boxing club.

Wigan thai boxing club holds classes for all experiences – including women – and has childrens classes from five upwards.

The club is based on Chatham Street, off Darlington Street in Wigan and is run by chief instructor Craig Brown.
