LCM Racing trio lead the way

The Wigan trio of Martin Clare, James Leatham and Martin McGrath make up the LCM Racing team with Clare currently leading the Three Sisters Steel Frame Championships.

Leatham is just behind him in second place.

Clare also leads the Pre-injection Championships in which Leatham sits in fourth after missing an earlier round.

Clare believes the pair of them would again be in first and second places if the round was not missed.

They also race in the Aintree Steel Frame Championships with third-placed Leatham sitting two places above Clare as they complete their first full season at Aintree this year.

Clare said: “I’m pretty happy, I was off all last year through injury through a bike crash at the beginning of the season, so to come back and do what I’m doing I’m pretty happy with the result.”

They have two more rounds remaining at both Aintree and the Three Sisters in August and September before this season comes to a close, with there being five rounds per season.

On August 28 the three riders are heading to Tofanau in Wales in an attempt to do the double having won the championship over there.

To help continue their successful season and spread the name of LCM Racing, the team are loaning out one of their bikes to Gav Brown who will take part in the Ulster Grand Prix in Ireland.

Clare added: “We’re loaning a bike out to Gav Brown.

“He’s been a podium finisher for the Manx Grand Prix so hopefully he will be up there with the leaders.”
