Prop Dom Crosby’s departure to Warrington Wolves has been confirmed today.
Warriors chairman Ian Lenagan cited salary cap restraints as the reason for letting the 25-year-old go.
Lengan said: “Dom was keen to agree a new and improved contract with Wigan which we were unable to commit to. After internal discussions, it was felt that the team had more than enough strength in the front-row to allow Dom to leave.
“Against this backdrop and our salary cap challenge, we felt it was right to allow this evolution to take place.”
Warriors were already well stocked in the pack before the arrival of Romain Navarrete from Catalans.
Coach Shaun Wane said: “This was a difficult decision but one that we felt was right for all parties.”
Another prop, Lee Mossop, also looks likely to be heading for the exit door, with Salford Red Devils interested in signing him.
