BEN Flower will be thrust straight back into Super League action once he has served his ban, revealed Shaun Wane.

The prop was suspended for six months for his infamous punch on Lance Hohaia in the Grand Final, for which he was sent off.

He will be free to play against Warrington on Thursday April 16.

And Wane admits their shaky start to the season has persuaded him to reinstate Flower straight to his team – rather than let him build up his match-fitness for partnership club Workington in the Championship.

“Ben’s fit, I’ll feel confident putting him straight back in,” said Wane. “The way we have gone has dictated how we’ll approach it. It would have been hard to drop the middles if we’d won every game – as it is, it’s not that hard.”

Captain Sean O’Loughlin won’t be fit to return from a knee injury until after the Good Friday derby against St Helens. The prop was suspended for six months for his infamous punch on Lance Hohaia in the Grand Final, for which he was sent off.
