SHAUN Wane is keeping his fingers crossed that he can welcome back four key players for Saturday’s crunch semi-final against Leeds.
Mike McIlorum, Jeff Lima, Paul Prescott and Josh Charnley all missed last Sunday’s 52-10 win at Wakefield through injury.
Wane said he rated Lima’s chances of playing at 90 per cent following a head-knock in training. But calls on the other three will have to wait until later this week.
They were unable to train yesterday but Wane is hoping they will pull through by the end of the week. He said: “Jeff is in contention to play, he at about 90%. Paul Prescott might train today and come back in, I’m not sure.
“I’ll know more later in the week with Josh. He hasn’t trained – it was quite a bad calf injury – but I hope we get him back, as you know his form has been fantastic.”
McIlorum is still carrying a training ground knock but Wane is hopeful he will be okay. He added yesterday: “I’m not 100% sure what my team is going to be yet.
It’s a short turn-around, so I’m not having everybody training (on Tuesday) which is a shame.
“We’ve got two full days of training; today and tomorrow so we’ll just have to make the best of it.”
