SANTA has delivered Wigan an early Christmas present in the shape of Willie Isa.
That’s the verdict of his new team-mates after several weeks training alongside the Kiwi-born forward.
Isa, recruited from Widnes, has yet to play for the Warriors but has impressed his peers with his exploits in pre-season training.
“Willie is one outstanding athlete,” said prop Lee Mossop.
“When you see him in the gym, he’s as strong as a bull. I’m excited to see him out there.”
Fellow front-rower Ben Flower concurred.
“He’s a really hard trainer, he’s very hard working,” said the Welshman.
“Waney loves that.
“When you’re at Wigan you have to do a lot of hard work that a lot of people outside the team don’t notice, and I’m sure he’ll fit in well.”
Former Melbourne player Isa, 26, started his career as an outside back but flourished as a middle forward at Widnes.
“He’s a player who, whenever I’ve faced him in the past, you look at their team-sheet and his name stands out,” added Joel Tomkins.
“He’s one of those players who always turns up and I’m sure he’s going to be a fantastic addition.
“He could be a massive player for us next year.”
