LEE Mossop is desperate to taste Grand Final success – even if it costs him his looks!
The Cumbrian prop admits he is the target of his team-mates’ jibes because he doesn’t have any tattoos.
From sleeves and elaborate designs through to small inscriptions of their 2010 Super League success, the other players boast a variety of ink-work.
Mossop, though, missed the club’s last title charge through injury, and has promised to mark any success this year with a tattoo.
The 23-year-old said: “I cop it off the lads, because I’m the only one who hasn’t got a tattoo.
“I said I’d get one for the Challenge Cup win (last year) but didn’t. If we win the Grand Final, I’ll get them both together.”
Mossop believes Wigan are well-equipped to reach Old Trafford by beating Leeds in the semi-final this Friday.
The Warriors had no game last weekend after qualifying in week one of the play-offs.
And Mossop said: “We think having the break will help us. We had a session on Monday morning and we were flying, and you tend not to get that on a Monday morning after you’ve played on the weekend.”
Leeds Rhinos will be missing Danny McGuire for the match on Friday.
The 29-year-old half-back has been handed a one-match ban, and a £300 fine, after being found guilty by the Rugby Football League’s disciplinary committee of a reckless high tackle.
WIGAN chairman Ian Lenagan has revealed they “chased” Wests and England forward Gareth Ellis, but decided against trying to compete with the big-money, three-year deal offered by Hull FC.
