WIGAN duo Mike McIlorum and Paul Prescott have switched their international allegiances after they were yesterday named among five Warriors in Steve McNamara’s 32-strong elite England training squad.
McIlorum and Prescott have represented Ireland in the past but are now in McNamara’s front-line squad with Sean O’Loughlin and Sam and Joel Tomkins.
Previous internationals Stuart Fielden and Martin Gleeson have been cut from the squad altogether, while winger Darrell Goulding –who figured in the Four Nations last year – has been relegated to the new England Knights set-up.
That 25-strong squad also includes Wigan players Josh Charnley, Liam Farrell, Stefan Marsh and Lee Mossop.
The ETS and Knights will get together for the first time next week for the first of three two-day camps scheduled for this year.
