PAT Richards is set to play against Wigan in 2016 after confirming he will return to Super League.
The winger has signed a two-year deal with French club Catalans Dragons.
Richards has spent the last two seasons back at NRL club Wests Tigers after leaving Wigan at the end of the double-winning 2013 season.
He became a firm fans’ favourite during eight years at the Warriors.
The 33-year-old said he is looking forward to returning to the competition, and says he and his young family are looking forward to experiencing life in the south of France.
His return to Super League may prompt some fans to ask why Wigan haven’t made a move for their former hero.
But even accounting for the loss of Joe Burgess to Sydney Roosters, they already have Josh Charnley and Dom Manfredi on board for 2016.
And full-back Sam Tomkins is also returning to the club after two seasons in the NRL.
