Current Super League Man of Steel and England fullback Sam Tomkins said: “We’re happy with the depth of the England squad and hopefully we’ll shake a few people up.”

Wigan is also set to make its mark on the Wales team, with Ben Flower, Gil Dudson, Rhodri Lloyd and Andy Powell all in the frame for selection.

Flower said: “We have a lot of Wigan boys in there and the Welsh side is looking pretty strong - hopefully we can put a good stamp down on the World Cup.”
