Ex-Warriors centre Dan Sarginson is expected to be fit for the NRL season opener as he recovers from a knee injury.

The 2016 Grand Final winner moved to the Gold Coast Titans in the off-season, and they kick-off their 2017 campaign at home to Sydney Roosters on March 4.

What we saw before his knee was playing up was pretty impressive

And Titans coach Neil Henry says he is comfortable with picking his new recruit for the opener, possibly at centre.

“What we saw before his knee was playing up was pretty impressive,” Henry told The Courier-Mail.

“If he’s right to go, he’ll be picked. He was left centre for Wigan and played fullback a fair bit of last year with (Sam) Tomkins being out.

“He is coming to a stronger competition, which is the challenge for him.

“He’s been training really well, even on modified stuff, and I can’t fault his attitude.”
