WIGAN hooker Logan Tomkins has joined Salford on a month-long loan.
Warriors Rugby Manager Kris Radlinski said: “This agreement will allow Logan the opportunity to get some important game time in Super League under his belt for the next four weeks.”
Tomkins has featured in five of the Warriors’ games in 2014, including three recent starts as replacement for the suspended Mike McIlorum.
With McIlorum now back, Sam Powell recovering from an ankle injury and George Williams in the frame, he may have struggled to find a place in Shaun Wane’s side.
Tomkins becomes the second player to make the switch from Wigan to Salford this season, following winger Dom Manfredi who joined the Red Devils in March on a similar deal. His loan expires after this weekend.
The move comes just a day after ex-Warriors assistant Iestyn Harris began work as Salford’s new head coach.
