SHAUN Wane wouldn’t want Warriors’ daunting run from now to the end of the season any other way.
His troops face Hull KR on Friday night before the new league leaders Huddersfield Giants visit the DW Stadium next week.
Then a week before the cup final, Wigan must travel to Perpignan to face Catalans Dragons but Wane has no issue with the schedule.
“It’s perfect. Armwrestles and tough games,” he said.
“I wouldn’t want the blowout games and we’re not going to get any more.
“For us to have Hull in the Challenge Cup Final and then Hull and Leeds going into the playoffs is perfect preparation for us.”
The trip to the south of France a week before Wigan must face Hull in the Challenge Cup Final has been earmarked by Wane as a potential banana skin but the former Wigan prop will not accept the pending final as an excuse.
“The only stumbling block is being in France so late before the Cup Final,” he said.
“I’m not having any excuses made over that. I’ve explained to the players that the best will be picked to play at Wembley.”
