MIKE McIlorum believes the club’s crop of new signings will produce career-best form for Wigan.

The England hooker has spent the past 11 days in their company and reckons Shaun Wane will drive greater performance levels than they have shown during their careers.

With Wigan’s first friendly just days away, McIlorum says fans won’t be disappointed when they see the likes of Matty Bowen, Eddy Pettybourne, Tony Clubb, Dan Sarginson and John Bateman in action.

He said: “The blokes who have come in are already class players in their own right, and now they’re at Wigan, Waney will make them better.

“When you think of the players already here and the improvement they’ve made, he’s shown he can improve us by 20 or 25 per cent, which is exciting when you think of their quality already.”

Wigan return from Florida today.

Meanwhile, renewed speculation is linking Melbourne with a move for Blake Green.

But Wane’s stance is unshakable, insisting the stand-off will not be leaving the Warriors in 2014.

A month ago Wane quashed reports Green may cut short his Wigan deal to move to the Storm.

Tickets for Wigan’s opening Super League game against Huddersfield on February 7 went on sale today.
