THE focus remains firmly on working hard to achieve results week by week for Warriors head coach Michael Maguire.
Some onlookers are already of the belief that the Super League’s current top three – Warrington, Huddersfield and Wigan – are set to charge clear of the pack in the closing stages of the season.
However, Maguire certainly isn’t reflecting on the situation like that and is preparing as eagerly as ever for Warriors’ next game – at home to mid-table Hull KR on Monday evening.
Maguire said: “We’re not looking at the table at the moment – as I’ve said there’s still a lot of rugby league to be played yet. As long as we keep performing week in, week out, hopefully the results will look after themselves.
“We just have to get our strongest team out each week. Every team in Super League is still a contender at the moment.
“Even though it might be showing the three teams clear at the top, there’s still others who are well capable of coming from lower positions.
“Bradford showed last weekend that every team in the division is capable of having their day so we’ve just got to make sure we’ve got that consistency so we can keep ourselves in the picture at the right end.”
The head coach added: “It’s going to be another tough one on Monday.
“Every weekend I seem to be saying the same thing, just like Bradford, but Hull KR will be chasing the points just like we are.
“There’s still a lot of rugby to be played between now and Old Trafford, and we’ve got a really busy period coming up.
“Of course Monday is the important one at the moment.”
