Alcaraz faces three match ban
ANTOLIN Alcaraz is facing a three-match ban after being charged by the Football Association with spitting at an opponent.
TV cameras appeared to catch Alcaraz spitting at Wolves defender Richard Stearman during the Latics 3-1 defeat at Molineux.
The FA said in a statement: “Wigan Athletic’s Antolin Alcaraz has been charged by the FA for spitting at an opponent. The incident, which was not seen by the match officials but caught on video, relates to his side’s game against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
“The player has until 6pm on November 8, 2011 to respond to the charge. If the player admits the charge he may accept an automatic three-match suspension.”

Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at 09:39 AMDeserves the ban. Every nation paper is running this story but the Observer is slow off the mark (bit like the team really) But we have other players who can fill that slot. Try Van Aanholt for a start. Then there's Dicko. Then there's Sammon,Maloney etc. Keep Caldwell away!!!!! Boyce as Captain. Wouldn't it be nice to see RM wearing a tracksuit for a change and actually moving along the touchline.A new DYNAMIC you could say! Can't wait to see the 'Martinez Out' banners.

Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at 05:46 PMInteresting to see if Martinez comes out and publicly condemns Alcaraz's behaviour - or just stands there, arms folded, looking vacant, mad eyed, hoping to cling onto his job for just another week.......like he does most match days.

Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at 04:37 PMI'm well aware who jones66 is referring to. what I was attempting to do was show them that in their attempt to be offensive all they'd done was show their ignorance to the true meaning of the word & in doing so the comment made no sense. In addition the username bongsmon alludes to the fact that I'm from Tyldesley aka The Bongs & is nowt to do with any use of a certain smoking implement!!!

Monday, November 7, 2011 at 03:05 PMYou are a bloody disgrace to the game Alcaraz. I spent a lot of money attending the game in Wolverhampton yesterday and ashamed to support a team with a player like you in it. You were seen laughing the incident off after the game, which only makes matters worse. You should not be allowed to wear the Wigan shirt again. Every credit to young Stearman for not reacting and keeping his mouth closed over the incident. You should be banned from the Premiership for life. Go back to Paraguay and take Martinez with you!
