ROBERTO Martinez will be hoping to have Franco Di Santo available after he escaped a major injury on Tuesday night thanks to a nasty tackle by Benoit Assou-Ekotto, who has escaped FA punishment.

Di Santo posted a picture of the injury on his Facebook page yesterday.

Martinez may be able to call on the services of two more players.

Midfielder Momo Diame could return to the side after Senegal tumbled out of the Africa Nations Cup, and David Jones could be in the frame after a calf injury.

On Diame, Martinez added: “He is definitely available for the weekend, and he’s a unique character.

“He just loves playing football, and doesn’t get affected with the interruptions the competition can bring, or anything that has happened off the field.”

Totally agree stuart, Nice guy but nice guys dont make good managers. Every wigan supporter can see what he is doing wrong except him, he is either deluded or he getting orders from the top to play like that. Im sorry but i have predicted wigan will lose AGAIN by 2 goals, either 0-2 or 1-3 and i bet i can guess what martinez will say after the match ... lol. and it wont be i quit.

we all know it;s whelans show and any other manager would have walked rather than cow tow to him Whelan knows he's hopelees . It's all part of the grand palan The club has nowhere to go and is in fact worse off than whren Whelan took over. We had eternal optimism which has helped us thru the years. WE owned our stadium. and nobody moaned.

If his player show that they will give 100% for him on Sat it will show we are all looking for the same thing.

Bad tackle, should have been RED! good news that he is fit to play on Sat, even better that we have Diame, Jones and Hugo back in the squad. BOB, we dont know what restrictions he is under with Mr Whelan, its a bit unfair to blame him 100%, but I agree if it was all his own work, then he should consider his future, bad transfer window, bad selection, bad formation. Bob is a nice bloke, but Wigan FC comes first.
