Spurs 3 Wigan 1
A Wigan debut for Jean Beausejour
GARETH Bale scored twice as Tottenham tormented a hapless Wigan side at White Hart Lane.
Spurs followed up their defeat to Manchester City with poor displays against Wolves and Watford but they were at their best tonight to beat Roberto Martinez’ men, playing their usual brand of free-flowing attacking football before Bale put them ahead in the 29th minute.
Luka Modric despatched a cool 18-yard strike to make it 2-0 five minutes later and Bale scored his second after 64 minutes before James McArthur grabbed a late consolation for the Latics.

Friday, February 3, 2012 at 12:27 PMHave been saying it for the last 2 years this manager is not good enough but Whelan wont get rid because this means he is admitting that he was wrong in the first place by appointing him and Martinez has not the guts to do the decent thing and resign. If we are to get to 40 points then we need another 8 wins and a draw Can anyone see where we are going to get these results playing the way we are

Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at 01:21 PMDon't hear anybody coming to the rescue of the terrible twins. Can't wait for the next spin. They must be running out of ideas on and off the field.

Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at 12:23 PMAgree with all comments said, after all the hard work of buiding the team up and gettin them into the top flight and then starting to get good crowds, it has taken just 2 years for Martinez and whelan because he wont sack him to ruin the team the fan base and any pride we had for being in the top league. We a small club but we had fight and passion but now thats all gone. I wont watch another game while he is in charge, think Mr whelan needs to listen to the people who pay every game to support that rubbish and get rid of martinez otherwise in another 2 years we will be close to the last tier in the league.

Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at 08:43 AMAs a former long term supporter would love to thank the chairman and that idiot manager for the most humilating day in the clubs history, I am in pure disbelief at what went on and then they put that performance in, disgusted. Going to put my season ticket to good use one last time and I absolutely dare anyone to question why I am screaming "you don't know what you're doing" been saying get rid for 2 years, now want rid of whelanas well don't care who takes over enough is enough

Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at 11:58 PMSpurs are a good side and Bale is an exceptional player but, on that showing, we don't have a hope of avoiding relegation. Too many players - almost the whole team - not of Premiership quality and that's been obvious to all but the person responsible for recruiting them for a long time.

Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at 11:10 PMYet again another lack luster performance, Gomez having a nightmare, leftwing spurs players allowed all the space they want, completeley unmarked, latics players not closing the opersition down quickly enough, De-Santo missing 2 opertunities, and worst of all salmon mission 2 open goals. What do we have to do to win a bl00dy game. As I have said before Martinez is the problem, he has no idea what he is doing, our mid field was again, sat too far back on the defence, players didn't have room too pas, a lot of school boy errors in the whole game. However the players can be blamed to some extent, but at the end of the day its the manager who is ultimately responsible. We do statistically have the worst manager in al the leagues,as a player for Wigan he was not that good, ahave the guts and leave you are an embarisment both to WAFC and yourself. You have singlehandedly made this club into a laughing stock since your arrival, 3 amegos !! I think 3 Stores.
