Wigan sign Beausejour

JEAN Beausejour is Wigan Athletic’s first signing of the January transfer window.

The Chilean international has put pen to paper on a two-and-a-half year deal after passing a medical at the DW.

And after twice failing to land the winger in the past, Roberto Martinez was delighted to make it third time lucky for an undisclosed fee in the region of £2.5million.

“Jean is a player we have been tracking for a long time, since he made a huge impression on us with his role for Chile in the World Cup,” Martinez told the Evening Post.

P.S. I know Folan was striker, just pointing out that players who score only a few goals can link up well with others and scare the defenders to make mistakes for others to profit from.

If he only scores one goal it will be better than most of our current players. Also wingers are by and large creators of goals, lets see if he can work well with either rod, di Santo or Sammon? Remeber Caleb Folan. Came in scored only two goals, but mixed things up a bit and kept us in the league. Doubt this lad can do this, but could happen?

5 goals in 55 appearances for the Blues. 1 goal every 11 games. How many games have we got left?

That's good news now we need Mame Biram Diouf on loan, plus one or two others, John Verhoek, Andrews and James McFadden.
