MARK Riddell is preparing for an all-out assault on the play-offs as he aims to leave Wigan with a Grand Final winner’s ring.

The former Parramatta hooker underlined his class last Friday night with an eye-catching display in the 34-12 victory against Bradford – Wigan’s last game of the regular season.

They were presented with the league leaders’ shield afterwards and Riddell insists they are not done yet.

He said: “I’m looking forward to finishing the season off in style. Hopefully we will.

“We’re pretty happy with how we’ve gone this season we all player will say they want the big one, and I’m no different.”

The hooker is cutting short his time at the Warriors and returning to Australia at the end of this year to be with his sick mother.

“It was a tough decision, but it’s the right one,” he added. “I love it here, but family comes first.”

Wigan need to win two matches to book a Grand Final spot. Leeds’ 18-14 win at Hull FC on Saturday means the Rhinos will be visiting the DW this Sunday (kick-off 6.45pm) in the opening game.

The winners progress to the semi-finals, while the losers get a second chance the following week.

Riddell and Salford-bound Iafeta Paleaaesina were presented with farewell gifts by the Riversiders supporters club at their annual awards dinner last Saturday night.

Pat Richards, who equalled Andy Farrell’s Super League record of 388 points in a season last Friday, was named the fans’ player of the season.

Sam Tomkins was second and Joel Tomkins was third. Joel was also named forward of the year, while Matt Russell was the Under-20s player of the year and Greg Burke took the U18s award.

Richards and the Tomkins brothers may get further recognition later today when the Super League Dream Team is named at Old Trafford.
