Nuuausala landed in Wigan yesterday to take up a three-and-a-half year deal and – with Shaun Wane’s squad depleted– he could to make his debut at Leeds this Friday night.

And Leuluai, who has signed a deal to return to Wigan next season, believes the player nicknamed ‘ Wrecking Ball’ has all the attributes to become a firm crowd-pleaser at Wigan. Leuluai told the Evening Post: “He’s a great signing for the club, they’ve done well to sign him up.

“He’s obviously really experienced, he’s played for the Kiwis and won a Premiership.

“He’s definitely a handy player to have - he’s going to add a lot to a very good forward pack.

“He’s got a lot of aggression, but he’s also got good skills, some really subtle ball-playing skills, which will add a lot to the club.

“I’m looking forward to seeing how he goes.”

Wane’s decision on whether to thrust the former Canberra prop into the frame this Friday night may have been swayed after Wigan captain Sean O’Loughlin was yesterday charged with a grade C offence, meaning he faces a suspension.
