Taylor promises much more
SCOTT Taylor has promised there is much more to come after a Wigan debut he branded “disappointing”.
But the prop – recruited from Hull KR – was not too disheartened by their 30-6 loss at Leigh on Sunday, in the club’s first of four pre-season friendlies.
Taylor started in a youthful line-up and returned after the break for a second stint.
Yet he and his team-mates were unable to get to grips with the contest, scoring their solitary try in the 71st minute when the game had well and truly slipped from their grasp.
Taylor, 21, said: “It definitely didn’t go to plan.
“It wasn’t acceptable the way we played, it’s disappointing to lose, and in that manner – I wasn’t happy with my performance.
“But at the end of the day it was the first friendly and it’s about getting the rustiness off and getting your timing back. I know the result wasn’t right but it was about getting back used to playing again.”
