We're finding consistency on the road, says Tautai

By this stage last year, the Warriors had won just two of their nine games away from the DW Stadium.

They have enjoyed far more success this time out, claiming six victories in eight matches on the road.

Tautai said: “Last year we struggled winning games away from home, but we’ve found that consistency now. We’ve spoke about it – the field may change, but the way we play shouldn’t.

“To play at home is always good but for some reason last season, as soon as we got on the bus, we found it hard.

“But now we’ve found some consistency and hopefully we can take it to the end of the season.”

With back-to-back wins at the Magic Weekend and at Castleford, they will head to Salford this Friday in confident mood.

A victory would keep the pressure on leaders Hull FC, who are two points clear at the top.

Warrington, Catalans and Wigan are all locked on 22 points, with fifth-placed St Helens four-points behind.

Salford are ninth in the ladder but their position is misleading, given they were docked six points for breaking the salary cap.

They have won their last two games, including a thumping 38-8 win against Wakefield last Friday.

“They’re a good side and they’ve played really well recently, so we know it’ll be a tough game,” said Tautai.

The former Wakefield prop has shown huge improvements this season.

And while he was below-par in a loss at Warrington a month ago, he has made amends with some powerful performances in the middle.

He added: “When we played Warrington and it wasn’t exactly my best performance.

“But I spoke to Waney and he said, ‘Put your head down and work hard’, and that’s what I’ve been trying to do. I think I’m getting some form now and be the best I can be for the team.”

Meanwhile, Wigan have not revealed any further details of their investigation into a town centre incident on Friday.

They admitted on Sunday that a player may be disciplined if found to have breached the club’s code of conduct.
