Wolves v Warriors

Wigan beat Warrington 20-12 in their pre-season match at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.

Wigan led 8-6 at half-time and added two further tries after the break.

Paul Deacon was included in Michael Maguire's squad - his first appearance for Wigan since his switch from Bradford.

A fumble from full-back Cameron Phelps in the fourth minute put the visitors under early pressure and, from the next set, Adrian Morley crossed with ease. Lee Briers' goal made it 6-0.

But Wigan responded with two tries to take the lead at the break. Sean O'Loughlin, who led the side out, angled a perfectly weighted grubber into Wire's ingoal, and Martin Gleeson was on hand to touch down.

Encouraged by that score, Gleeson turned to provider two minutes later to put Wigan in the driving seat.

Sam Tomkins supported Phelps' piercing break from his own half and after the stand-off was hauled down, the ball was swung to Wigan's right and Gleeson unselfishly passed to Amos Roberts, who crossed in the 19th minute. Richards again missed with his conversion attempt.

Tries by Lee Mossop and Harrison Hansen sandwiched a touchdown by Chris Riley.
