Trent Barrett has his heart set on a place at Old Trafford - but the level-headed Australian warned that Warriors will have to step up yet another gear to get past Leeds Rhinos this weekend.
Wigan are just 80 minutes away from the 2008 Grand Final after a wholly convincing 50-26 win at Catalans Dragons.

A side brimming with confidence will now travel to Headingley on Friday night to face Rhinos in a final eliminator for the right to meet St Helens in a showdown on Manchester United's famous turf.

Skipper Barrett has sought to keep his players' feet on the ground by insisting that they have to make even more improvements.

He said: "It was a great effort from all the guys in France and these are exciting times.
"We now have another away game and who knows what might happen this time around?

"But we know that we will have to do better again. Our win in France is in the past.
"Leeds are a terrific team and they will be smarting after that loss at St Helens on Friday.

"They finished in the top two of Super League because they have been a top-two team all year."

Friday's game will be a repeat of the same stage of the 2007 play-offs when Rhinos ran out 36-6 winners.

It was estimated that a third of the 16,000 crowd that night made the trip from Wigan and it is predicted this will happen again.

Barrett – who has never lifted club silverware in either Australia or England – grabbed two tries in France as he sets out to end his two-year stint with Warrriors on the winners' podium.

He added: "I want to finish on a real high. It would be great to get to Old Trafford and the fans can help get us there."
Tickets for Wigan's trip to Headingley are now on sale.

Season ticket holders will receive a 20% discount when purchasing before 5pm on Thursday.

Prices range from £9.60 for discounted juniors standing behind the goal in the West Terrace to £18 for adults.
Warriors are also trying to secure seating tickets.

A limited number of family tickets, consisting of two adults and two juniors, are available in the main stand, but these must be purchased in advance directly from Leeds by calling 0871 423 1315.

The Wigan ticket hotline is 0871 66-33-552. Season ticket holders need to have client codes to hand.

All we want is to make the final and give Saints a game. At least against Leeds it's a level field as they will be tired too as Saints took them apart. I just hope they peaked too soon this year.

Ste you have been wrong about bradford and catalan so your not the best tipster going off past predictions. Were gonna beat leeds on friday i'm not as confident of the win at old trafford but saints won't be looking forward to playing us, they will know they've got a game on the hands and you never know their might just be an upset. Come on the warriors!!!

Problem is dudes that if Wigan win at Leeds they will be knackered. Saints will have had two weeks break and be fresh as the pies they serve from galloways.

I think we can make the final - but winning the cup - that's gonna be the difficult bit.....as I cn see it being 32 v 24 score in favour of Wigan against Leeds, but can see Saints winning the final, but saints will be expecting the win also which might make them for once take their foot off the gas, unlikely i know, but it'd be great for the Warriors to prove that the team that played Huddersfield 2 months ago called by the press "the worst team since the time we got relegated" can also be the only team in years to win the SL Cup! Going from Zeroes to Heroes in a matter of months, as I did not expect us to win any silverware with Nobby in charge, but I have a warm feeling inside that we could win it i 2 weeks!

lets not worry either way about predictions. i hope nobby keeps the same team and they control the ball. leeds will come at us hell to leather and we dont need to be giving away penalties. i dont know but i guess it will be kline and ganson or the other way around so we must ensure that our discipline is good. if we can keep it close in the first half then try things in the 2nd half then im sure we can run them closer than last time we played them. lets also remember that the best 40 minutes of rugby we played in years was against them so we have nothing to be afraid of. in fact i think they will be the team more afraid after watching what we did to catalans.. come on the warriors."pride of the town"
did anyone notice all the comments on the latics column
