Former Wigan player Phil Blake has spoke of his relief that doctors discovered a potentially life-threatening blood clot in his lungs before it was too late.
Blake is recovering with his family at his home in Sydney just days after the traumatic experience.

The 43-year-old, complaining of chest pains and loss of breathe, was rushed to Manly hospital after a CAT scan revealed the dangerous clots in his lungs.

Doctors immediately put the Manly Marlins RU boss on medication to break down the clot and ease the build-up of blood in his lungs.
"The worst thing was I didn't know what was going on," said Blake, who played for Wigan from 1989-90.

"With blood clots if it travels to the wrong place you're in a fair bit of trouble. I'm just relieved that it was found and we were able to treat it promptly."

Ste - Good to hear you can offer a respectful comment when it matters, just hope you can offer more in the future - by making a reasonable contribution than just making daft comments
