Lenagan off on talent search

Ian Lenagan will jet off to Australia on a scouting mission later this month.
And a new recruit to replace Test stand-off Trent Barrett is high on his target list.
The Wigan chairman has admitted a recent bid to sign controversial Canberra Raiders' half-back Todd Carney ended in failure. The 22-year-old, who was sacked by the Raiders after two drink-driving offences, will play for the Huddersfield Giants.
Lenagan said: "Todd Carney was a classic opportunity, but unfortunately he was too expensive.
"We are still looking, but to fill Trent's boots is quite a tall order.
There certainly isn't a surplus of candidates either overseas or here in this country."
Wigan's owner will fly Down Under in time for the start of the World Cup on October 25. And Lenagan admits he is on a recruitment drive too, but made it clear that quota restrictions mean he can only sign one new overseas player for the 2009 campaign.
And he is at pains to out that the player must be the standard Wigan need and within budget.
He added: "I will be watching as many World Cup games as possible during a two-and-a-half week visit to Australia later this month.
"But the trip will be a scouting mission for Wigan as well because we do need to bring in new players for next year and beyond."
