Sean O'Loughlin's season is over - the Wigan skipper will not play for the club again this year and is out of the World Cup as well.
The shoulder that he broke two months ago has still not healed. A scan this week revealed the bone hasn't healed fully.

Coach Brian Noble said: "This is a serious blow for us and for the player. It's a shame for the lad but clearly he now needs to rest it for at least four weeks before he can start training again.

"He will not be ready for the World Cup which is another blow for England and for him.

"However, it is important not to take any risks and to have him fully fit for the start of the new season."

If our forwards don't perform then it doesn't matter who plays at halfback! The problem is that the Stains forwards are better individually and collectively than ours. The game is, more often than not, won upfront.

JT is a star of the future and he has probably been our best backrow forward this year. We should be giving more of our younger players experience. It matters not at this stage (apart from pride) what the result is on Friday. Why do we persist in selecting players who have been deemed not good enough e.g. Colborn, Calderwood?

Im ashamed of u lot! Why are you always so down on all the players, they are just ordinary people doing their jobs after all!

Get well soon chuck, rest, drink beer, and eat alot of pie n chips, come back to preseason training with a renewed enthusiasm for the sport and lead our team to sucess!

Sorry, Cherry, not ordinary people.
They are well paid athletes in a performance-related part of the public entertainment business:
