Wigan Warriors have all but confirmed that they will not be signing a new player to replace Trent Barrett - and also quashed rumours linking them with Darren Lockyer.
Current stars Thomas Leuluai and Tim Smith are almost certain to be the first-choice half-backs next season.
Lenagan said: "When Trent goes they are big boots to fill.

"But we do feel that Thomas and Tim will be an excellent combination. All the rumours about Lockyer are not true."
Lenagan had never commented on the Lockyer link before.

Wigan also have promising stand-off Sam Tomkins waiting in the wings. Smith, who was recruited from Parramatta in mid-season, seems the most likely candidate to switch to No.6 once Barrett departs for Cronulla at the end of the season.

But former Kangaroos star Barrett said either could fill the position, insisting: "The way we play it, there's not too much difference between the roles."

Wigan already have 3 overseas half back on their books how many more do they want? The days when local lads dreamed of wearing the cherry and white of their hometown are long gone.

Read the article, they dont want him????????? What are you on about???? we will have two next year, the only reason we have three is because one was brought in early as anothers replacement.

Wire have a Welshman and an aussie at half back, so whats your point Ste?

don't forget about Mark Flanagan who we brought from Bradford. He's been going well in the reserves. He's a GB stand off for his age group

By the far, I've concluded Ste's login is used by two or three people. The adult Ste who makes the odd decent comment and his two kid brothers who are 9 and 6. Today the 6 year old had a go on the keyboard. Either that or Ste is into hard drugs and today he can't see straight to read the article..

I was just saying why do Wigan need Lockyer when they have 2 overseas players already?

Tommy and Tim have played well together since Tim first wore the shirt, even working better than the Tommy and Trent partnership. Wigan were looking for one more signing with a Winger as priority, but I have heard that this is no longer the case as Pryce is match-ready and will be our winger/centre for 2009 (Ive heard that he has been ready for months but not played due to salary cap), so I think we have our 2009 squad sorted, pity with our savings we did not keep Micky, but Lenegan has signed quality players to date: Carmont, Smith, Phelps....so lets hope Riddell is another bargain find. Come on Warriors you can crush Leeds and Saints by just keeping up the form for anotyher 160 minutes!
