Lockyer won't be joining Warriors, insists agent

Wigan owner Ian Lenagan has been told he has no chance of signing Darren Lockyer.
The Warriors chairman will meet with several players and agents during his week-long visit to Australia.
Lenagan said: "Wigan would be exceedingly interested in signing a player of the calibre of Darren Lockyer, but one has to question about how serious he is about finishing his career in England."
But Lockyer's agent, George Mimis, stressed he will be discussing his other clients - and not the brilliant Australia, Queensland and Brisbane stand-off - when he meets Lenagan this week.
Mimis said: "Darren is contracted to the Broncos until the end of '09 and nothing is about to change.
"I'm a bit bemused every time I read a story about Darren Lockyer and Super League for next year because it's not going to happen.
"Darren's contracted to the Broncos, he's happy at the Broncos and will be at the Broncos.
"I will be meeting with Ian but not about Darren Lockyer. I've already made that clear."
Lenagan's arrival in Australia has sent the Sydney tabloids into a spin, with the Daily Telegraph featuring the Warriors boss on their back page.
They branded him as "the man ready to plunder Australia's Test side and pinch our NRL stars... the man with the biggest chequebook in the game."
In reality, the salary cap continues to bite as Lenagan has to manage contracts he inherited when he took over Wigan at the end of last year.
Barrett is expected to be joined through the exit door by at least two other first-team players, but Lenagan is unlikely to pay the big-money needed to land some of the targets that the Sydney press are linking him with, such as Carl Webb or Ryan Hoffman - both due to play for Australia tomorrow (Friday).
Earlier this year, Wigan dropped out of the running to sign Kangaroos hooker Danny Buderus because of his wage demands - he later signed for rivals Leeds.
But Wigan are thought to be close to securing Parramatta hooker Mark Riddell for next season. The goal-kicking No.9 told the Wigan Observer he was keen to move to the Warriors and had been in contract talks.
Lenagan is also planning to meet Barrett's agent, Wayne Beavis, as they formalise the stand-off's release from the final term of his contract so he can return home with his homesick family.
Beavis says he has been unable to open negotiations with "four or five" NRL clubs interested in Barrett because he had yet to be granted a release by Wigan, although Lenagan denied that the Warriors were holding up the formalities and added: "I am certain it will go ahead."
Meanwhile, scrum-half Michael Dobson insists Wigan did try and lure him back to the JJB Stadium before he signed a two-and-a-half year deal with Hull KR.
Dobson helped steer the Warriors away from relegation danger two seasons ago.
"There was interest from Wigan, and the other Hull club wanted me too, but as soon as Hull KR came in for me that swung it," Dobson said.
"I really did contemplate going back to Wigan as I had a great time there."
Lenagan's hunt for a new stand-off has not been at the expense of retaining the promising young players.
Sam Tomkins, a half-back and the 19-year-old brother of first team forward Joel, has signed a new contract with the Warriors until the end of the 2010 season, with an option of a further year.
Mark Flanagan, a 20-year-old loose forward who was signed from Bradford last year for a five-figure fee, has signed a one-year extension to his current deal which will take him until the end of 2009.
Only the East and West stands will be open at the JJB Stadium for Wigan's Challenge Cup clash against Whitehaven next Monday, May 12, tickets priced £14 for adults and £7 concessions.
For season ticket holders, tickets are priced at £12 for adults, £6 for over 60's and students, and £1 for under-16s when bought before 2pm on Saturday, May 10.
First-choice second rowers Phil Bailey (sickness) and Gareth Hock (suspension) return to the side, while coach Brian Noble has not ruled out the possibility of including scrum-half Thomas Leuluai, even though he only arrives back in England on Sunday following tomorrow's (Friday) Test between New Zealand and Australia.
