Wigan's new replica shirts are unlikely to be on sale before Christmas.
Club chairman Ian Lenagan admits fans may have to wait until the New Year before buying the merchandise.
The Warriors are currently talking with sports manufacturers to decide who will make their strip from next season.

And, at the same time, they are hunting for a new main sponsor after the deal with current backers JJB Sports expired.
Replica shirts are a popular Christmas present and while Lenagan admitted fans may be disappointed by the delay, he hoped they understood the "tricky" situation and the importance of making sure the club strikes a deal with the right manufacturer and sponsor.

He said: "Trying to find a sponsor, even for a brand like Wigan, can prove tricky because we don't want to sell ourselves short.
"We could end up with no sponsor rather than the wrong one, although we're confident of finding the right sponsor for Wigan.

"Mick Hogan (new chief executive) is very strong in these areas, he's been doing it for years. Hopefully we're close to sorting something out.
"The problem is we're up against a time scale. It's quite likely that we won't have replicas on sale by Christmas, which would be unfortunate, but obviously we can't make the shirts without the sponsors on."

Lenagan said the amount generated by replica shirts and sponsorship is considerable.
He also said the club planned to sell merchandise directly to the fans, although a club-shop close to the JJB Stadium remains a long-term plan.

Pity the shirt is delayed but Good News that the shirt is going to be sold direct from the club to the fans - no £s to JJB store and into Whelan's pocket (as he still has a large %age share in the company)- just what Whelan deserves hot him where it hurts - the wallet! After the lack of respect he has shown the Warriors its only right we take steps to move away from the JJB stadium and the store and this money-grabbing Latics fan!

The rumour I heard that it was going to be a charity sponsor. The name in the frame was 'Shelter' the Homeless Charity.
