Wigan quartet Mark Calderwood, Stuart Fielden, Mickey Higham and Gareth Hock have been added to England's train-on squad for the Rugby World Cup.
Coach Tony Smith will name his final 24 man squad on Tuesday, October 7.

Winger Calderwood, prop Fielden, hooker Higham and second rower Hock all played a key role in Wigan's play-off charge, which was eventually ended by Leeds.

Calderwood and Higham are leaving Wigan for Hull and Warrington respectively.

England begin their World Cup campaign in Australia with a pool game against Papua New Guinea on 25 October.

Hope that Fielden can catch the ball after his showing at Leeds, it was like a bar of soap when he got it.

Ste - obviously you have never played the game, I have never come across anybody who never knocked on!

I thought Calderwood had made himself available for Scotland? Does the fact that he is in the intial squad for England override that?

Mate I have played the game for Winwick back in the late 80's as a kid so I am qualified to give my opinion.

Ashame your opinion is very often biased and designed to provoke a negative response, not a good rugby discussion.

Andy I say what I see, not what others wanna hear! What do you want me to say? Fielden is in his career best form and the Aussies and Kiwis and all the rest of the World Cup sides will be bricking it?

Not at all cos that wouldnt be true. Id like your opinion of the players, if you dont rate them fine if you do great, but commenting on an article about 4 players being called up for england by mentioning 1 isolated specific knock on? This is totally pointless unless ment to be provocative. It seems you do this to get someones back up, it would be like me saying, Hope sinfield learns to kick he missed a drop goal infront of the post! That would be rediculous cos i know he's a great kicker and that was a rare error.
