He should have long since departed this earth....But a Wigan woman claims she's being haunted by her dead stepfather who appears next to the electric meter under the stairs!
The 81-year-old from Shevington first noticed something was wrong when she spotted cigarette ends lying round the house.

But soon afterwards, she noticed a fog under the stairs and a ghostly head and shoulders appear.

She said: "One afternoon I
was having a cup of tea and inside the space under the stairs was a fog and I thought 'somebody is going to come through there'.

"Eventually a man appeared - just his head and shoulders. It was my stepfather who should have passed away in the 1970s.
"He was a heavy smoker and I wondered if it was him putting cigarette butts down.

"I said 'I know it's you, don't keep putting cigarette ends everywhere'.
"He was a terrible man, he could not live without the drink."

The lady who has studied mediumship for more than 38 years has recorded
a catalogue of unusual incidents in her home over the last few months including hearing her mother's voice and dark clouds hanging over her while she lies in her bed.

She said: "I read up on it and it said 'if you're getting a bit psychic these are one of the symptoms, it's not pleasant but it will pass'.
"I also have a ticking in my head which is another symptom."

As for the ghost of her stepfather, she's not too worried about him haunting under the stairs – but is annoyed about the litter.

She said: " He's doing no harm but I said to him stop leaving these cigarette ends round the house."
