Catherine changes her tune

The actress, who is engaged to Tom Pitfield, of Standish, announced on Twitter that she will be recording music under the direction of United Agents Music.

She posted: “Exciting news! I’ve signed with @UnitedMusic Sign up here to be the first to hear about a whole new journey for me.”

The mum of one is guaranteed to stay on Coronation Street until next March after signing a year-long contract extension earlier this year.

After hinting she may want to pursue other projects, it’s thought bosses offered her a five-figure deal to stay on the soap.

Catherine added: “Me and Shayne (Ward) just sing all day every day.

“And anything – Motown, pop, musical theatre, even Disney. It drives the others mad.”

Meanwhile, Catherine is gearing up to wed fiance Tom.

She said: “Meeting Tom was so out of the blue. I’m dead lucky. He ticks every box. [When I fell pregnant] we were both ready. The fact that I wasn’t nervous about telling him proved a point in my head that he was the right guy for me. I’m quite relaxed about the wedding.”

And it appears Tom doesn’t mind her snogging co-star Shane ward on set,as she said; “He’s fine which is so refreshing. Tom is very laid-back.

“He’s been on set before and sat behind me and Ryan Thomas while we were snogging in a scene.

“He totally gets the job. Plus the kissing on camera is the least romantic thing ever.”

The blonde beauty also opened up about her life before she lost weight, as she used to be a size 22.

She said: “I was treated differently. I was always the fat, funny friend.

“Men all wanted to buy me a drink when I was slim but I said no because they didn’t want to buy me one when I was fat.”

The actress admitted that she has completely changed her lifestyle and predominantly follows a Paleo diet, which she credits for her weight loss, and has a strict gym regime.
