Congratulations to Catherine and Tom

The Standish-born trainer and the soap star got wed at Colshaw Hall in Cheshire last weekend in front of family and friends.

While Catherine and Tom have kept the details of their big day fairly under wraps, the Walkden actress has made no secret of her excitement to tie the knot over the last few months.

She revealed she wanted her son Alfie to play a part in the wedding, and he’s thought to be pageboy, while her co-star Antony Cotton, who plays Sean Tully, was one of her ‘bridesmen’.

The pair have signed a deal with a magazine for their big day, but Catherine has dropped a fair few hints at her wedding plans recently.

Describing her dress to Hello! magazine, she said: “I’ve picked a gown that’s totally unlike any design I thought I would choose. It’s absolutely stunning – and I’ll feel like the luckiest girl in the world when I wear it to make my vows to Tom.”

Celebrity guests included her on-screen nan Sue Johnston, as well as Corrie stars Shayne Ward, who plays her soap boyfriend, Samia Ghardie, Brooke Vincent, Jane Danson, Jennie McAlpine, Tisha Merry, and Kate McGlynn.

The pair met at the gym where Tom works and after posting on Twitter if anyone wanted to take her to the cinema in January 2014, Tom replied and they began dating. Tom popped the question in August 2014 in Venice, and they welcomed Alfie together in March last year.
