INTERNATIONAL cellist Natalie Clein will be performing at a Wigan concert hall this weekend.
Natalie will be joined by pianist Alasdair Beatson, at Parbold Village Hall, on Saturday, from 7.45pm.
The evening, which is part of Douglas Music Society’s season, includes favourite works by Debussy, Faure, and Brahms.
Described as a “mesmerising” cellist who “plays everything with passion”, Natalie is firmly established amongst Britain’s leading artists.
Natalie first came to widespread attention at the age of 16 when she won both the BBC Young Musician of the Year and the Eurovision Competition for Young Musicians.
Other awards include a Classical Brit for Young British Performer of 2005.
She has performed with most of the great conductors and major orchestras in the UK and across the world. Natalie has commissioned and premiered works by many of today’s composers, as well as collaborating with the dancer, Carlos Acosta and the writer, Jeanette Winterson.
Natalie records for Hyperion Records and EMI Classics, with her most significant work being the Elgar Cello Concerto with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic and Vernon Handley.
Alasdair Beatson is highly regarded as a distinctive and sincere pianist.
His recent CD of Mendelssohn piano music received high praise in Classic FM Magazine and was awarded the Outstanding accolade by International Record Review.
He was named a Rising Star in BBC Music Magazine.
