A WIGAN pet store is holding a special half term event.
Pets at Home on Robin Park is holding a series of free pet workshops for children throughout the half term holidays.
The workshops have been designed to increase awareness and knowledge of how to care for different types of pets responsibly, particularly as winter approaches and temperatures drop.
Pet advisors will explain how to keep small animals safe and warm during the winter months as outdoor rabbits and guinea pigs need particular care to protect them from extreme weather.
A spokesman said: “We’ll be holding a variety of exciting workshops for children to take part in. From rabbits and guinea pigs to fish and wildlife, the workshops will be something fun and interesting for children to do over the holidays.
“We are passionate about pets and their welfare is our top priority. We are keen to pass on our knowledge about responsible pet care to as many pet owners and future owners as possible.”
Throughout half term children can also take part in ‘Picnic Time’, an interactive learning session where they can watch the pets being fed their healthy afternoon snacks and learn about their feeding habits every weekday at 4pm and at 2.30pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
