THIS year’s Ironman UK triathlon will pass through Wigan again on the morning of Sunday, July 31.
More than 1,500 athletes will take part in the 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike ride and 26.2-mile running race.
The race will meander in and out of the Greater Manchester and Lancashire countryside – perfect to catch all the action.
Free to spectators, the event promises to be an incredible day of racing and human achievement.
The swim and transition 1, will once again be located at Pennington Flash with registration in the Leigh Sports Village a short walk away. The bike course then heads from Wigan, through Bolton into the Lancashire countryside and takes in some challenging terrain.
