THIS weekend sees the music scene in Wigan kick-start again.
Each night this weekend, top bands and musicians will come out of hibernation and grace the stages of Wigan.
First up tonight is the first Davestock Promotions gig of 2012, at the Boulevard on Wallgate.
Dave Kaaria and Seddy Cort have a night planned that will rock your socks off.
From 8.30pm tonight, hardcore metallists Cale Lane are on the bill with grunge artists Ten By Ten, heavy metal group Candid Iniquity, and Wigan progressive metal act, Acrid Fear.
Organisers have promised this gig will be the start of a big year for Davestock, with acts already booked for the next few months.
Dave said: “I saw Cale Lane a few weeks back, and they were very good.
“They were a good live act, especially as it was one of their first gigs with a recent line-up change.
“We’ve been big fans of Acrid Fear for a long time, and we were gutted that they had to drop out of Devolution back in October.
“With March and April line-ups more or less sorted already, 2012 is looking to be a bigger and better year for Davestock Promotions.”
Signal Aurora and the Loaded Dice will perform at the Orwell on Saturday, with all proceeds going towards Action Medical Research for children.
And, to round off the weekend, The Klang are on at Boulevard on Sunday.
More information on all gigs can be found on Facebook.
Davestock Promotions also urge any local bands, who want to appear on the bill at the next monthly night, to get in touch via Facebook.
