A WIGAN band has paid a proud tribute to their roots by making one of their hometown’s most popular beauty spots the star of their first music video.

Indie rockers Inside View, made up of lead vocalist and guitarist Ant O’Brien, guitarist and backing vocalist Danny Heaton, bassist Johnny Waring and drummer Sean Murphy filmed much of their video for new single Heart On Fire at Haigh Hall.

The famous 19th century hall and sweeping grounds of the country park provided the backdrop to the performances of the band and actors, which accompany the strains of Inside View’s first single from their recently-released debut album, Let Go.

The four-minute video, which also stars friend of the band Lauren Tregay in the role of the leading female character, explores concepts of letting go and moving on, with a final scene shot on the beach at Ainsdale, near Southport.

The four-minute sequence was put together for the group by director Chris Croft and can now be viewed by music fans around the globe after being put on YouTube.

Guitarist Danny, 24, said: “We had just finished recording the album and thought the next logical step was to do a video. We’ve always been quite proud of coming from Wigan and our heritage, so it’s nice to film here and then say to people that this is where we’re from. It was quite a long day of filming, we started at 9am and finished at 10.30pm, but it wasn’t too bad for us because we had breaks in between our parts. It was Chris who had most of the work to do as he was filming everything.

“We’re now going to get it on our Facebook page and website to try and get it out there. People seem to like watching videos rather than just listening to music.”

Danny now hopes there will be more singles to follow Heart On Fire taken from Let Go, which represents nearly a year of work writing, rehearsing and recording by the band.

The album has a slightly darker, more rock-influenced edge from Inside View’s previous work, and is available from online outlets including iTunes and CD Baby.

Danny said: “We all have our own individual favourite songs at the moment. Heart On Fire stands out for a lot of people, which is why we picked it for the first single.

“There’s also a song called Ghosts Or Bones which is darker than anything we’ve previously done. We meant it as an album track but it seems to be a lot of people’s favourites.”
