THE new Wigan Youth Zone is celebrating after it was selected as a venue for this summer’s Big Gigs.

On Saturday July 13 the club will be hosting a huge music event for young people across Wigan to enjoy.

But first they need young performers to come forward and get involved.

Singers, rappers, instrumentalists or anyone involved with music to get in touch for the chance to showcase their talents at the events.

Our Big Gig is will be taking place across the UK from July 11 to 14 with the aim of bringing communities together to celebrate local musical talent and get more people involved in music-making.

Around 300 Our Big Gig events will be taking place with help from organisers Superact.

The Our Big Gig event at Wigan Youth Zone will comprise live music, participatory classes for young people and a showcase event for different organisations involved in music to inspire young people.

And with so much talent in the borough and beyond, the Youth Zone say they are delighted to be hosting one of the events.

The events will see all kinds of music played at different venues across the country including parks, community centres and Youth Zones.

The Our Big Gigs are being funded by the Department of Communities and Local Government, the Arts Council England and the National Lottery-funded Grants for the Arts programme.
